Putting your AI agent on your website

Enabling web calling, adding allowed domains, choosing the intro, editing the consent text, copying the snippet into a website, running a test call from the browser, and regenerating the token.

Web calling lets visitors on your website talk to your AI agent straight from their browser. You paste a small snippet into your site. It adds a round button in the corner of the page. A visitor clicks it, enters a phone number or email, reads your consent text and clicks to start the call. The AI uses your intro and voice prompt, just like on a phone call.

Each web call is saved against a contact, so you see it alongside your other calls. If the phone number or email already belongs to a contact, the call is added to that contact. Otherwise a new contact is created.

Before you start

  • This tab only appears when web calling is turned on for your account. Contact support if you don't see Web Calling in the AI menu.
  • Create at least one intro under AI › Teach Your Bot › Intros. See Intros.
  • You need to be able to edit your website, or ask the person who manages it.

Set up the website snippet

  1. Go to AI › Web Calling.
  2. Tick Enable web calling.
  3. In Allowed domains, enter the websites the button may appear on, for example example.com, www.example.com. Separate them with commas or new lines.
  4. Choose an Intro, or leave it empty to use your default follow-up intro.
  5. Review the Consent / policy text. Visitors see it above the start button. {company} is replaced with your company name. Click Reset to default to go back to the standard wording.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Copy snippet and paste the snippet into your website, just before the closing body tag of each page where you want the button.

An empty domain list blocks every site

The button only works on the domains you list. If Allowed domains is empty, it won't work anywhere. You can type a full address or just the domain. Bigly keeps only the domain part.

Test a web call

You can try a call from inside Bigly before you put the snippet on your site.

  1. Scroll to Test web call.
  2. Enter a Phone number or Email. First name and Last name are optional.
  3. Choose an Intro.
  4. Click Start test call and allow microphone access when your browser asks.
  5. Talk to the agent. Status shows the connection, and Microphone level moves when you speak. If you can't hear the agent, click Enable sound.
  6. Click Disconnect to end the call.

Regenerate the token

The snippet contains a token that ties it to your account. If you think it's been copied somewhere it shouldn't be, click Regenerate token. The old snippet stops working straight away, so paste the new one into your website right after.

Settings explained

SettingWhat it does
Enable web callingTurns the website button on or off.
Allowed domainsThe only websites where the button works.
IntroThe opening the AI uses on web calls. Empty means your default follow-up intro.
Consent / policy textThe notice shown above the start button. Empty uses the default text.

Troubleshooting

The button doesn't appear, or calls won't start. Check that Enable web calling is ticked, that the site's domain is in Allowed domains, and that the snippet is on the page. If you regenerated the token, update the snippet.

The visitor can't be heard. The browser needs microphone permission. Ask them to allow it and try again.
