Followup sequence
Ask your AI assistant to set up the recurring calls, texts and picture messages that keep following up with leads, and the working hours they run in.
Reading the current routine, setting working hours, adding a daily call and a weekly text, limiting total days and attempts, checking the preview, and confirming.
The followup sequence keeps working your leads after the first contact. It's a routine of calls, text messages and picture messages (MMS) that run at set times each day or on chosen weekdays, for a set number of days after a lead is added. This page also covers your working hours, the windows when follow-ups and AI calls are allowed.
In the app, the routine is on AI › Followup Sequence, and the on/off switch and working hours are on AI › Configure. Your assistant can manage all of it in one conversation.
This is different from the first day followup, the step-by-step sequence that starts the moment a lead is added.
Show me our follow-up routine and working hours. Set our working hours to Monday to Friday, 9 to 6, and Saturday 10 to 2. Call leads every day at 10:00 and text them every Tuesday and Thursday at 14:00. Follow up for 14 days, with at most 6 calls and 4 texts.
Before you start
- Connect your AI assistant to Bigly.
- You need permission to read follow-ups to see them, and permission to update follow-ups to change them. Account owners and admins have both by default.
- Set your timezone in AI settings before you set working hours. Hours are read in that timezone.
What the assistant reads
- Totals and switches: whether follow-ups are on, how many days they run, and the maximum calls and texts.
- Working hours: whether they're on, and the time windows for each day.
- The routine: every action, with its type, time, how often it repeats, and its message text or images.
Change the routine or hours
- Describe what you want.
- The assistant shows a preview. Totals and working hours appear as before-and-after values. For the routine, the preview gives the number of actions in the new routine, so ask the assistant to list them for you before confirming.
- Confirm in the chat.
When the assistant changes the routine, it sends the complete list of actions, and that list replaces everything you had. To add one action, ask the assistant to keep the existing ones and add the new one.
A Claude conversation previewing a Bigly follow-up change: total days going from 10 to 14, a working-hours table for Monday to Saturday, and a list of three routine actions (daily call at 10:00, weekly text on Tuesday and Thursday at 14:00), with a request to confirm.

Limits and rules
- Day names must be full English weekday names: Monday, not Mon.
- Times use 24-hour format, like 09:00 or 17:30.
- Every day you list needs at least one time window, each with a start and an end.
- With working hours on, a day you leave out is never callable.
- A weekly action needs at least one weekday.
- Follow-ups stop on their own when a lead converts or has a successful call.
If you never set working hours, Bigly uses a default window of Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 20:45. Your agent will appear to work normally but with hours you didn't choose. Working hours also affect callback booking, live transfers and how after-hours inbound calls are handled.
What you can't change here
- The first day followup has its own page: First day followup.
- Message Interested Followup and other options on the Followup Sequence tab that aren't listed above are app-only. See Followup sequences in the app.
- State calling-time rules always apply on top of your hours. See Calling hours.
- No Reply FollowUp is a separate feature, managed in the app. See No-reply followup.
