# SMS statistics

> See how many texts you sent, how many were delivered or replied to, what they cost, and read every message.

The **SMS Statistics** screen shows your text messaging for the dates you choose: how many messages were sent, delivered, replied to or failed, how many people unsubscribed, and the total cost. Below the totals you can read each message.

## Before you start

- You need permission to view statistics. If **Statistics** is missing from your top navigation, ask your account owner.

## Open SMS statistics

1. In the top navigation, click **Statistics › SMS**.
2. Set **Start Date** and **End Date**. Click **Reset dates** to return to the default period.

## Read the overview

| Figure | What it counts |
|---|---|
| **Sends** | Messages sent. |
| **Total Billable Pages** | Message segments you're billed for. A long message, or one with special characters, uses more than one segment. |
| **Deliveries** | Messages the carrier confirmed as delivered. |
| **Sending** | Messages still on their way. |
| **Replies** | Replies received from contacts. |
| **Failures** | Messages that couldn't be delivered. |
| **Unsubscribes** | Contacts who opted out. |
| **Total Cost** | What the messages cost. |

## See the messages behind a number

1. In **Overview**, click a figure such as **Replies** or **Failures**.
2. The **Details** table filters to just those messages.

## Search and filter messages

1. Type in **Search message, contact or number...** to find a message.
2. Use **Result** to show one type of message, for example replies.
3. Use **Direction** to show outgoing or incoming messages only.

The table shows each message's **Contact**, **Text**, **Direction**, **Phone Number**, **Time**, **Status**, **Segments** and **Cost**.

## Export messages

1. Click **Export** above the table.
2. A progress bar shows while the file is prepared.
3. When it's ready you get a notification with a download link. The link expires after 30 minutes.

## Common questions

**Why is Total Billable Pages higher than Sends?** Each message can be several billable segments. Shorter messages without emoji use fewer segments.

**Messages are stuck in Sending.** Carriers can take a while to confirm delivery. If they stay there, check your [10DLC registration](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/10dlc-registration.md), because unregistered numbers are often filtered.

**Where do I see the AI's text conversations?** Open the contact in your [Inbox](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/inbox.md).
