Every call and text you send from Bigly comes from one of your phone numbers. The **Numbers** page is where you buy numbers, see the ones you own, and decide what happens when someone calls them back.

## Before you start

- If you plan to text from **Vonage** or **Sinch** numbers, finish [10DLC registration](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/10dlc-registration.md) first. You can't buy those numbers until you have an approved 10DLC campaign.
- Your account needs an active subscription. See [Billing](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/billing.md).

## Buy a number

1. Go to **Numbers** in the top navigation and open the **Buy Numbers** tab.
2. Choose a **Provider**. You only see the providers turned on for your account.
3. Choose the **Number Type**: **Local** or **Toll Free**.
4. Enter an **Area Code** to find numbers in a particular area. Local numbers in your leads' area codes are more likely to be answered.
5. Click **Search Numbers**. Available numbers are listed with their **Location** and **Price/mo**.
6. Click **Buy Now** next to the number you want. A **Number Bought** message confirms the purchase.

### Buying several numbers at once

Some accounts buy numbers in batches instead of searching. If you choose this kind of provider, the screen changes:

1. Choose **Outbound** or **Inbound** as the **Number Type**.
2. Enter how many numbers you want in **Count**.
3. Pick one or more **States**, and optionally specific **Area Codes**. If you pick states but no area codes, Bigly uses any area code in those states.
4. Click **Buy Number**. A **Buying Numbers** window shows each setup step as it finishes.

If the window says the numbers were bought but setup didn't finish, **don't buy again**. Click **Retry setup**, or contact support. Retrying never buys more numbers.

A new number shows as **Pending** until it's ready. It can't be used for calls or texts until its status changes to **Active**.

## See your numbers

Open the **My Numbers** tab. The tab shows how many numbers you own. For each number you'll see:

| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **Number** | The number and its status: **Active** (ready to use), **Pending** (still being set up) or **Spam** (flagged as spam and not used for sending). |
| **Provider** | The provider the number belongs to. |
| **Assigned Forwarding** | Where inbound calls to this number go (see below). |
| **Created** | When you bought it. |

Use **Filter by Provider** to show one provider's numbers. Numbers are billed monthly, on the 1st of each month.

## Choose where inbound calls go

When a lead calls one of your numbers back, the call can go to your AI agent or to a phone.

- **Send calls to the AI agent.** For numbers that support it, switch on the **VoiceAi** toggle in **Assigned Forwarding**. Calls to that number are answered by your AI agent, using the inbound intro linked to the number. You can also link a number by choosing it in **Select Number** on an inbound [intro](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/intros.md).
- **Forward calls to a phone.** For numbers that support forwarding, click **Edit**, type the phone number in the format `+1234567890`, and click the check mark. Bigly asks whether to use the same forwarding number for all your numbers; click **Yes** or **No**. Leave the box empty to stop forwarding.

## Remove a number

1. Open the **My Numbers** tab.
2. Click **Remove** on the number's row and confirm.

The number is released and you stop being charged for it. Any intro, campaign or forwarding setting that used it stops working, so update them first.

## Troubleshooting

**No active provider contact support to buy phone numbers.** Your account has no number provider turned on. Contact support.

**You must have an approved 10DLC campaign before purchasing a Sinch number.** Finish [10DLC registration](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/10dlc-registration.md) and wait for the campaign to be approved.

**Your subscription has been canceled.** Reactivate your subscription on the [Billing](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/billing.md) page, then try again.

**A number shows Spam.** The number was flagged as spam, so Bigly no longer sends from it. Buy a replacement number, and contact support if you think the flag is wrong.
